Notably, in February 2024, Kohli was blessed with his second child, whom they named Akaay. Virat Kohli took a 2-month break from cricket during that period and missed the entire Test series against the England National Cricket Team before making his comeback to competitive cricket in the Indian Premier League 2024.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also won the Player of the Match award for his heroics against the Punjab Kings, and speaking after the match, he said that he always looks forward to building memories during the matches and was grateful for receiving the love and appreciation from his fans. He elaborated:

“It’s been going on for years (love story with fans at Chinnaswamy). People talk about a lot of other things when you play sports: achievement, stats, and numbers. But when you look back, it’s the memories you create. The love, appreciation, and backing I’ve received have been amazing.”

While talking about spending time with his family, Virat Kohli labeled it a surreal experience. He said that spending time with just another person on the road was special for him. He elaborated:

“Just to feel normal for two months – for me, my family – it was a surreal experience. Couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognised. I will continue to show up and give it my all; that is the assurance I can offer at this time.”
